NEW GOLF COURSE REVIEWS

SHAFTSBURY GLEN - Shaftsbury Glen is just a 30 minute drive or so to SC route 905, two miles west (towards Conway) from the Conway bypass.Our group today consisted of three locals, who shot consistently in the low to high 90s and a low 80s import from the Philadelphia area. Later on in this article, the out-of-towner will compare his home area to ours. read more

LEOPARD'S CHASE - This week, we headed North on route 17 for nine miles from the SC border to Ocean Ridge Plantation to play their brand new course - Leopards Chase. Just opened in spring 2007, Leopards Chase is the fourth of “The Big Cats” courses at Ocean Ridge. read more

THISTLE GOLF CLUB - The course is designed to present a distinct Scottish links feel, with wind-swept fairways, large bentgrass greens and surrounding hillsides covered in heather and wild flowers. Scheduled for completion in late fall, 2007, the club house will reinforce the Scottish link feel. Constructed with a stone exterior with stone pillar supports, the Thistle Clubhouse looks like a 19th Century Scottish club manor house. read more

SEA TRAILS - JONES - Head North on route 17 towards Calabash, NC and look for Route 179. It is just a short drive from the SC/NC border. Turn right on to 179 through Calabash for about four miles and the Sea Trail entrance is on the right. Just follow the signs to the impressive club house and conference center. read more
