The Love Course at Barefoot Resort & Golf plans to reopen for public play on June 1, according to Barefoot's general manager Dave Genevro. Barefoot temporarily closed the course for public play on April 27 in the wake of the wild fire that destroyed 70 homes at Barefoot.
Structurally the Love Course emerged from the fire intact but some of the bridges that link the course were damaged, forcing it to close....read more

With tee times arranged by Myrtle Beach Golf Directors, we recently visited the newly revised Pine Lakes Golf club. Pine lakes opened in 1927 just a half mile from the ocean. It is located in the heart of Myrtle Beach on Granddaddy Drive and is now only accessible off of Grissom Parkway. Visitors can no longer get to the course off route 17 business. However the entrance off Grissom Parkway is clearly marked by large easily readable signs.... read more
COURSE REVIEW: POSSUM TROT GETS BETTER WITH AGE
Possum Trot is a traditional design almost entirely unencumbered by housing. The layout isn’t tricked up, and the greens don’t require a PhD in golf to read. There are no hidden hazards and fairway bunkers are at a minimum. Water is visible on 14 holes but it’s not overly threatening, most of the time.
“It’s just good old-time golf,” Johnny Powell, Possum Trot’s superintendent, said. “There is a lot of nature out here. It’s a great family course (and) everybody that plays it comes back.”.... read more
