Introducing New Non-Stop Flights from Chicago to Myrtle Beach

Golfers from the Midwest now have a new reason to come to Myrtle Beach for some world class golf. Spirit Airlines has announced that they will make one daily, non-stop, round trip flight from Chicago’s O’Hare airport to Myrtle Beach starting in March of 2009. This is the first daily, non-stop flight from Chicago since 2006.

The drive from Chicago to Myrtle Beach is about 15 hours and takes about 40 gallons of gas. Just gasoline is roughly $75 per vehicle in today’s gas market. Now, with Spirit, you can get a round-trip ticket to Myrtle Beach for $36. Or, if you are a member, you can get a flight for as low as $18. Member or not, those are great savings, not to mention your time. These prices are for a few days in March, which arguably, is the best time for golf in Myrtle Beach. So, what you save in airline tickets, you can spend on more golf! Be sure to ask your golf director for a quote on golf and accommodations.

Spirit is not the only airline in the Midwest that offers non-stop service to Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach Direct Air flies quite frequently to Chicago-Rockford Int’l, which is about 45 minutes from Chicago. So, if you are not quite close enough to the city, or you just hate the hustle-bustle, there is another option. When it comes to airlines, it never hurts to shop, either.
