A GOLFER'S GUIDE TO MYRTLE BEACH SPECIALS

The down turn in the economy has resulted in as many new Myrtle Beach golf specials as there are golf courses and we all know that the "Golf Capital of the World" has plenty of those. Navigating the maze of Myrtle Beach Golf deals to find the best fit for your golf group can be difficult enough to make even the most experienced Myrtle Beach golf veteran scratch their head; but never fear Myrtle Beach Golf Directors is here to breakdown the most popular.

The list below is based on my opinions, if you have any questions or would just like to discuss please feel free to give me a call at 877-840-4653 or email carson@myrtlebeachgolfdirectors.com.

SPECIALS LIST

FREE GOLF CLINIC INCLUDED AT INTERNATIONAL CLUB OF MYRTLE BEACH
PROS: A great price, with this course included in all golf packages at no surcharge or as golf only for $53. Who couldn’t use a couple of pointers?
CONS: The other members of your group might start beating you if you don’t pay attention.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: International Club of Myrtle Beach
WHO CARES?: Anybody that can use a little help with their golf game. This is an excellent chance for your group to pick up a few pointers from USGTF Master Teaching Professional and Life Time Member of the PGA (not to mention a good guy), Joe Bernat. www.joebernatgolfacademy.com Also, I should note The International Club has been awarded the 4 Star rating in Golf Digest 's 'Best Places to Play'

FREE GOLF FOR THE 16TH GOLFER
PROS: Finally being able to receive the same benefits as groups of 20+. The cost of golf can be a large part of your package cost, so this special results in real savings.
CONS: The limited number of courses that participate in this offer.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: Sea Trail – Byrd, Sea Trail – Maples, Sea Trail – Jones, Myrtlewood – Pinehills, Myrtlewood – Palmetto, Grande Dunes, Tidewater, Farmstead, Meadowlands, River Hills and Pine lakes.
WHO CARES?: Organizing a golf package is never easy. You know what I’m talking about if you have ever tried making sure even 4 opinionated golfers are happy with the courses, accommodations and maybe most importantly the price. As the group size increases so do the opinions, therefore to ease the pain as the group leader you can get a break or pass the savings on to your group.

PRE-BOOKED REPLAYS
PROS: Confirmed tee-time at a significantly lower rate. No waiting in line and scrambling around for an afternoon tee-time while the rest of your group waits.
CONS: Not many cons, but you are locked and paying for that second round no matter what your back feels like of how bad you played in the morning.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: Thistle Golf Club (includes lunch), Myrtlewood – Pinehills, Myrtlewood – Palmetto, Grande Dunes, Tidewater, Farmstead, Meadowlands, River Hills, Pine lakes, Indian Wells, Black Bear, Burning Ridge, The Founders Club, Arrowhead and Wild Wing – Avocet.
WHO CARES?: For those of you looking to play until your hands bleed or the beer runs out you can get to the course knowing you have a confirmed tee-time for your second 18 without having to pay the full round rate. This is a good deal if you are planning a trip in the Spring or Fall seasons when rates are higher and tee-times are harder to find.

THIRD AND FOURTH ROUND FREE
PROS: It’s right there in the title, FREE ROUND.
CONS: Limited courses and some restrictions apply. Offer expires 09/09/2009.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: Blackmoor (PM), Litchfield Country Club (PM), Aberdeen Country Club, Myrtle Beach National - South Creek, Myrtle Beach National - West Course and Waterway Hills
WHO CARES?: This special is basically a new twist on the Myrtle Beach National 5th and 7th round free package that has been around for a few years and can result in real savings for those that can’t get away for 5 or 7 rounds.

FREE NIGHT AT COMFORT SUITES OF MYRTLE BEACH
PROS: Free night means more money for golf.
CONS: Not good for weekend nights.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: Comfort Suites of Myrtle Beach
WHO CARES?: If you are planning a golf trip for before 06/12/2009 and can arrive on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday this might be the best accommodations option for you, particularly if you prefer a central location or have never been to Myrtle before.

REDUCED RATES AT MYRTLEWOOD VILLAS
PROS: Savings at one of the most popular golf package locations on the beach.
CONS: You must stay four or more nights in order to qualify for the reduced rate.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: Myrtlewood Villas
WHO CARES?: Because of their central location, flexible unit sizes and bedding options; Myrtlewood continues to be our most popular golf package accommodation. If you are looking to stay four or more nights in a central location, this might be the best accommodations choice for your group.

FREE NIGHT IN A GOLF VILLA WHEN YOU BUY 2 NIGHTS
PROS: It’s a free night! Locations from the south end to central Myrtle.
CONS: Must arrive on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday for all properties except River Oaks.
COURSES/PROPERTIES: True Blue Golf Villas, Barefoot Golf Villas, Barefoot Yacht Club and River Oaks.
WHO CARES?: If you are planning a spring golf trip this is a good way to save a little money for golf. The offer does expire on 05/18/2009 with the exception of Yacht Club which is good through 03/31/2009.
