Journey into a world of golf unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. 18 holes rise as if by magic from undisturbed woodlands and enchanted wetlands. Nearly 4000 feet of bridges wind their way through hundreds of acres of wetlands, left intact as nature's perfect hazards. But the beauty of the setting doesn't diminish the challenge lurking in the layout. In the best spirit of golf, The Witch was designed to bring out the best in players of all levels. It's an unforgetable golfing experience.
The second hole gives you the first taste of what a great course The Witch really is and what you will be enjoying for the rest of the day. Before arriving at the number 2 tee box, you first take a pleasant drive along one of the courses many long bridges through a natural South Carolina swamp putting any mistakes you might have made on the first hole long behind you.
Now that you are relaxed, it’s time to tackle the relatively long par 4 (394 yards from the white tees). The tee shot is not a particularly difficult one, just let it rip, best to favor the left hand side of the fairway with a draw in order to take the right side pond out of play. Assuming you’ve put a decent drive out there, you now have a straight forward approach shot of 125 to 150 yards to a green protected front left and right by bunkers. If you end up near the right side pond stay on you toes as there are usually at least two good size gators around.

This 186-yard par 3 is very demanding off the tee. The green is slightly elevated and guarded by a deep bunker short and right. The pin will sometimes be tucked just behind the bunker, which makes par on this hole a pretty good score. The safe play is to aim just left of the bunker and put the ball in the left center portion of the green. Be sure to have enough club, as anything short will either be in the bunker or will land short with no possibility of a nice bounce up onto the putting surface.
The green itself has quite a bit of undulation, with some up and down-hillers that can make a long two-putt quite a task. For those of you that hit a cut, anything that lands right of the green will kick right and risks the chance of going into a water hazard. There is a hazard in front of the green but it is not really in play. All of the major trouble is on the right, so play to the left. Par is a lot better than double-bogey.

The 17th hole at The Witch is a downhill (about 30 feet) Par 3 that measures 166 yards from the white tees. Your strategy here is to stay right no matter what. Anywhere left of the green on this hole is history. There is a large bunker on the Right side front of the green, which is a very popular spot. If you don’t land on the Green and hit it towards the right side, you may get a nice bounce off a hill, which more often than not will kick your ball onto the green.
The elevation change from tee to green and the beautiful landscaping around this green make it the best hole on the course.
